1–Who am I?
What is it that I bring? What is the grace I bring to people, life and world? What do I lead with?
2–Who is God to me?
2b—What was your earthly Father like?
3–What is my message? If you had to distill it down, what does my life say to others right now?
4—What is holding me back?…What has held me back from sharing my life message?
And finally…
What will my life look like in 2009 when I live like the person God has created me to be–unafraid, powerful, loving, and focused? (2Tim 1:7)
This podcast finishes up with a wonderful song about identity with Esther Sparks
Also mentioned are a film clip from Akeelah and the Bee
a lovely montage on creativity from revisioning life
and an iPhone app called Focal Ware

This podcast experienced technical difficulties originally, but is cleaned up for your listening and writing pleasure. Word Spit is a writing exercise where you begin to write whatever is in your head at that moment (don’t think too much about this!) and then fold in the words that are given to you as you go (again, no thinking!). This is strictly done to loosen up creative juices so you can move forward in your own art form. Also included in this podcast is a snippet of the conversation that night between the artists around the book The War of Art by Steven Pressfield. An original writing and song round out this podcast. Send your word spit missives to us via the website http://www.greenhousearts.com

This podcast features Greenhouse singer/songwriters sharing their latest creations. These songs are fresh out of the songwriter’s experience. Interestingly, we never set themes for open mic nights, and even the order of when songwriters come up to perform is unplanned. Yet themes emerge and the evening flows in a magical way. This podcast is edited only minimally. As this open mic night unfolded, God really met the listener in a fresh way, and by the last song, we as a group sat in total silence for a long while just taking His presence in. The final open mic night podcast of 2008 for the Greenhouse, and a memorable experience.

From an early age, Will Vaus was fascinated with the writing and thought of C. S. Lewis. So much so, that when he became an adult, he turned this passion into his vocation. Will moved his family to Ireland for a time to live in community with Lewis’ step-son, Doug Gresham, during the making of the movie, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. It was the Greenhouse Community’s privilege to welcome Will Vaus, actor, pastor and author of Mere Theology: A Guide to the Thought of C.S. Lewis published by Intervarsity Press, via our Greenhouse Arts Teleconference. Will spoke to us on ‘C.S. Lewis and the Arts’. In this excerpt we hear C.S. Lewis’ thoughts on writing. From that vantage point, Will exhorts artists of all media to produce art that is True, while being latent with our deep seated belief in and love for Jesus. You can find the works of C.S. Lewis and of Will Vaus on amazon.com.
